Bio

Dr. Tal Morr maintains a private boutique practice in Aventura Florida limited to Aesthetic, Implant, and Complex Restorative Dentistry.  Dr. morr graduated Summa Cum Laude from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine where he received his DMD degree.  He then continued his dental education in the field of prosthodontics at the University of Washington Prosthodontic program where he received a certificate in Prosthodontics and an MSD degree.  Dr. Morr is a nationally and internationally recognized clinician and educator in the field of prosthodontics and has lectured throughout the world on various topics such as aesthetics, implants, and full mouth rehabilitation.  He is a published author of both articles and chapters in dental related publications and textbooks.  Dr. Morr recently was awarded the Saul Schluger award for clinical in diagnosis and treatment planning by the Seattle Study Club.  Dr. Morr is a member of numerous professional organizations such as the American College of Prosthodontics, The American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry, The American Academy of Restorative Dentistry, as well as many local study clubs.

 

Abstract

Conventional Restorative vs. True Inter-disciplinary Management of esthetic and functional dilemas!  Considerations, decision making and challenges

When patients present to the dentist in need of a rehabilitation, most if not all want the easiest path of treatment, the least pain, and the shortest time of treatment possible.  Nobody presents to the office desiring Orthodontics or Orthognathics as part of a comprehensive restorative plan.  Managing every patient presenting with esthetic and functional issues utilizing restorative and minor surgical intervention only can have dire consequences and compromises in the structural, biological, functional and esthetic results in the wrong case.  It is imperative that we, as the restorative dentists, understand the ideal options for treatment, and determine if a compromised plan is acceptable or not.  Only through a systematic protocol and a thorough understanding of the advantages and limitations of all modalities of treatment can a proper plan be implemented.  This lecture will focus on decision making to determine when it is acceptable to compromise and when not.

  • When is it acceptable to ulitilize restorative dentistry only in treating the complex restorative case
  • What are the options for inter-disciplinary care and when is it necessary to utilize these modalities
  • Risks associated with different treatment modalities
  • Communication with the team involved in the treatment
