Abstract

Adhesion and Cementation – Essential Tools for Minimally Invasive Oral Rehabilitation: Current Status 2026

The tectonic shift that has taken place in recent years in the therapeutic approach to tooth-supported oral rehabilitation is reflected in changes in tooth preparation techniques, in the restorative materials available, and in the protocols for preparing both restorations and teeth for adhesive procedures.
This paradigm shift accompanies the clinical team in all stages of treatment, from the restoration of a single tooth using minimally invasive restorations such as porcelain veneers, Maryland bridges, onlays, and endocrowns, to full-mouth rehabilitation using a minimally invasive approach with porcelain veneers, onlayveneers, and crowns.
In this lecture, we will organize and simplify the protocols for tooth preparation for different types of restorations, review the possible laboratory restorative options, and present the clinical procedures for preparing both restorative materials and teeth for cementation.
